A quick build, I wanted to try and create something you could see in a game like World of Warcraft. I studied the colors, geometry, and texturing techniques used by Blizzard and attempted to create a prop that would fit into their world and workflow.
One of the first things I noticed when studying Warcraft assets, was just how much they used symmetry in geometry, and overlapping UVs to increase resolution and improve optimization. Almost any asset you look at in game is mirrored on 1 if not 2 axis. For this well I found I could mirror on the X and Z axis, reducing the time required to texture and sculpt, and achieving the objective of matching Blizzard's style and workflow.
